Program Description
The Pharmacy Technician program is designed to provide the student with the knowledge and skills needed to become a Certified Pharmacy Technician.
Skills & Competencies
Students will learn how to process prescriptions, prepare and package medications, establish and maintain patient profiles and assist patients in the retail and hospital settings. Students will take a variety of courses including pharmacology, pharmacy law & ethics and sterile procedures. Other courses are designed to interpret prescriptions correctly, use medication distribution systems, provide quality assurance, and use information resources such as pharmaceutical databases.
