Description of Training Provider

Lackawanna College is approved by the Pennsylvania State Department of Education to grant degrees and is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.

Program Description

This program combines the Project Management Professional with our CIW Database Design program and provides entry level project managers with the knowlede and skills to take the Project Management Institute's nationally recognized Project Management Professional (PMP) exam as well as the CIW Database Design Specialist exam. These credentials are considered the standard of excellence in the fields of Project Management and database specialization. These comprehensive courses will use online learning activities, practice exams and assignments to prepare students for these credentials. To apply for the PMP exam, students will need to have either a secondary degree (high school diploma, associate degree or the global equivalent) with at least 5 years of project management experience, 7,500 hours leading and directing projects and a minimum of 35 hours of project management education, OR a four-year degree (bachelor's degree) with at least three years of project management experience, with 4,500 hours leading and directing projects and a minimum of 35 hours of project management education.
