Program Description

Machine Tool Technicians produce parts using machine tools such as lathes, drill presses and milling machines. Students learn how to set up and operate a wide variety of machine tools and have a thorough understanding of the working properties of metals. Using their skill with machine tools and their knowledge of materials, students can plan and carryout the operations needed to make machine products to meet precise specifications.
The CNC/Precision Machine Tool Technology program is designed to provide fast-track, high-skilled manufacturing training in the following areas; safety, precision measurement, job planning, bench-work, materials, conventional machining, CNC milling and CNC turning. Graduates from this program are prepared to enter the industry as entry-level manual and CNC machine tool operators.
