Description of Training Provider
RACC offers non-credit and credit course offerings and articulation agreements within the college and with other universities.
Program Description
The 15 week program provides both technical knowledge and practical skills of pharmacy practice needed to work in a hospital pharmacy setting or a retail pharmacy setting. The course is designed to prepare successful completer for entry-level employment as Pharmacy Technicians in either the hospital or retail setting.
Skills & Competencies
The student will have hands on assignments for: Mastering Hand Technique, Aseptic Technique, Using Tools of the Trade, Following Procedures before the Hood, Understanding Labels, Keeping the Clean Room Clean, Understanding Large Volume Paranterals, Understanding Small Volume Parenterals, Compounding Chemotherapy and Biohazardous Products, Staying Aseptic with Glass Ampules and Compounding with Controlled Substances.
