Program Description
The objective of this program is to provide students with all the basic knowledge and practical skills necessary to qualify them to become entry level “In Town” drivers of heavy equipment, dump trucks, and medium sized delivery trucks. They will receive a Class B Certificate and CDL B License upon successfully passing the CDL B Examination. This program provides CDL endorsement training, classroom, lab, skills, road and the CDL B exam after the 40hrs.
Skills & Competencies
This program prepares students to take written knowledge test to obtain a Class B permit. The student will be able to perform vehicle inspection, basic backing, parking and shifting techniques.
Road instructions are shifting speed/space management and emergency procedures. This course offers Basic Operation, Vehicle Inspection, Basic Control, Safe Operating Practices, and endorsement training on General Knowledge, Air Brakes, Tank, and Hazardous Materials. This course totals 16 hours of classroom, 4 hours of lab, 8 hours of skill instruction, and 8 hours of road, and 4 hours of Testing. The course offers 1:1 instruction during the skills and road portion of the program.
This Program satisfies the new FMCSA mandated ELDT and BTW requirements, effective February 7, 2022.
The CDL B examination is administered on site. Student will receive a CDL Class B License from the PA DOT upon successfully passing the CDL B Examination.
