Program Description
The career training programs offered by the College are designed to take students from where they are to professional success in their careers.
This program combines the Venipuncture( Phlebotomy ), Electrocardiograph(EKG) and the Dialysis Technician Certifications' to make students employable in a variety of clinical fields. These courses teaches basic venipuncture techniques for adults, children and infants as it prepares the student to take the phlebotomy exam. The electrocardiograph class prepares students to become a certified EKG technician and prepares them for the (EKG) Technician exam. Dialysis technicians, also called hemodialysis or renal dialysis technicians, operate kidney dialysis machines that filter waste products and excess fluids from the blood of patients whose kidneys can no longer perform this function. Dialysis technicians initiate, monitor, and discontinue dialysis treatments for the renal failure patient. The Certified Electronic Health Records Specialist(CEHRS) is included for students to gain the necessary skills regarding patient records and electronic health record systems, HIPAA concepts, policy and procedural methods. You will receive three certifications with this program.All testing and materials included.

Skills & Competencies
This course teaches basic venipuncture techniques for adults, children and infants as it prepares the student to take the phlebotomy exam. Coursework includes aseptic methods and isolation procedures. Prepare to become a certified EKG technician and to take the (ASPT) – Electrocardiograph (EKG) Technician exam. Provides practice with equipment and hands-on lab experience, anatomy, use of the EKG machine and other clinical practices. Dialysis students operating kidney dialysis machines that filter waste products and excess fluids from the blood of patients whose kidneys can no longer perform this function. Dialysis students initiate, monitor, and discontinue dialysis treatments for the renal failure patient.
Learn the competencies needed to successfully manage electronic data in a variety of health-care settings. You will be prepared to take the Certified Electronic Health Records Specialist (CEHRS) exam from the National Healthcareers Association.
