Program Description

 The Computer Network Security Technician is designed to provide the student with the knowledge and skills needed to apply for an entry-level position in this industry. 

Skills & Competencies

Computer Network Security Technicians install, configure and support an organization’s local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Internet system or a segment of a network system. In addition, network administrators plan, coordinate and implement network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware and perform data backups and disaster recovery operations. Students will learn how to maintain network hardware and software as well as monitor the network and to perform necessary maintenance to support it. Students will take courses related to low voltage electrical concepts such as building security, surveillance and electronic control. Courses will include network infrastructure, wireless technology, electrical studies, network design, and IT support technology as well as computer repair & maintenance.
