Description of Training Provider

A career and technical school accredited by Middle States Association Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools.

Program Description

The 1500 hours of program instruction is delivered through a variety of methods over a twelve month period. Students acquire knowledge through classroom instruction and hands-on learning in a state-of-the-art laboratory. In addition, partnerships with local health care facilities expand the learning environment and allow students to apply their knowledge and skills through clinical experiences.

Skills & Competencies

The graduate of the Practical Nursing Program will: Demonstrate completion of the curriculum objectives and associated competencies: Assist in the application of the nursing process to provide nursing care to individuals across the lifespan through efficient and effective use of resources in structured health care settings. Communicate effectively with patients, their support systems, and the health care team through the use of interpersonal skills and technology. Assess the health status and health care needs of patients through the collection of data within established protocols and guidelines. Collaborate with patients, support persons, members of the health care team and community agencies to provide patient-centered quality care. Promote, maintain, and restore health to individuals within their communities. Demonstrate professional accountability and commitment to standards of professional practice while practicing nursing within legal, ethical and regulatory frameworks. Students will be prepared to successfully complete the National Council Licensure Exam for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN®).
