Program Description

The Collision Repair Technology program is intended to prepare students, through both classroom and lab experiences, with the skills necessary to obtain a broad range of entry-level technician positions in the collision repair profession. The program emphasizes both major automotive collision repair as well as painting and refinishing.

Skills & Competencies

The curriculum consists of extensive classroom instruction and practical hands-on training in the various phases of automotive components, welding, auto mechanical & electrical systems, equipment safety & operations, major collision repair, auto refinishing, panel alignment and glass replacement. Course Outline: Intro to Auto Body Repair, Automotive Component Repair, Foundations of Collision Repair, Mechanical Systems, Electrical Systems, Applied Math, Physical Science, Computer Concepts, Technical Writing, Hydraulics, Welding Essentials, Intro to Major Collision Repair, Major Collision Repair I, Major Collision Repair II, Panel Repair & Alignment, Estimating, Glass Replacement, Intro to Auto Refinishing, Auto Refinishing, Small Business Management, Customer Relations, Shop Management and Resume & Interviewing Techniques.
