Description of Training Provider

Program Description

The Class B Commercial Driver Training Program is 136 hours. Full-time students attend 8 hours per day for the first 14 days, then scheduled for 4- hour sessions after attaining their permit. Part-time students attend  4 hours per night for 22 evenings and 8 hours for the first 3 Saturdays, then scheduled for 4- hour range/road sessions after attaining their permit.  The program includes instruction in the classroom, lab, highway, city, range driving time, and observation time on the road. The student will have a minimum of 114 Classroom and Independent study hours and 20 hours behind the wheel time (BTW) ), and the 2 hour 3-part final exam. The student can earn their Class B CDL license upon successful completion of the course and the PennDOT examination. Upon completion of the course the student should be able to: Demonstrate safety practices needed to obtain/maintain a Commercial Driver’s License. Demonstrate knowledge and skills used in driving Class B trucks.
Demonstrate safe driving techniques. Identify the importance of the trucking industry to the economy. Demonstrate basic knowledge and practical skills associated with driving a Class B truck.
