Program Description

A diploma program offered in Bristol, PA. The part-time program is offered in the evenings on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights. This program is measured in clock-hours. The courses include electricity fundamentals, residential wiring, electrical grounds, and commercial electrical applications. This program will enable a student to obtain entry-level positions with the following and similar job titles: Electrician, Electrician Helper, and Electrical Installer. Students will be prepared to install electrical systems in both residential and commercial applications.

Students will be prepared to install electrical systems in both residential and commercial applications and the following competencies:. Understand and apply foundational principles and theory of electricity * Understand and apply a working knowledge of series, parallel and combination circuits * Understand and apply a working knowledge of electrical measuring instruments * Understand and apply principles of theory and operation of alternators, DC motors and DC generators * Understand and apply principles of resistance, inductive and capacitive loads * Understand and apply principles of single and three phase transformers.
