Program Description
This program will prepare you for a career as a network technician and qualify you to take the CompTIA™ Network+ certification exam (N10-006). Compute's Network+ certification is vendor-neutral and will give you the skills you need to manage, maintain, troubleshoot, install, and configure basic network infrastructure. You'll master basic networking concepts and gain a fundamental knowledge of network design, security, cloud computing, forensics, advanced IP addressing concepts, and routing and switching. Upon registering, you're given six (6) months to complete this program.
Skills & Competencies
Understand network concepts, including functions of each layer of the OSI model and they layers and functions of the TCP/IP model Categorize WAN/LAN technology types and their properties Install, configure, and differentiate between common network devices Evaluate the use of addressing technologies and addressing schemes Implement addressing services like DHCP Evaluate the use of the Domain Name Services and understand dynamic DNS Describe common routing protocols and the purpose and properties of routing Compare the characteristics of wireless communication standards, and implement a basic wireless network and wireless security Conduct network monitoring to identify performance and connectivity issues, and perform network performance optimization Understand computer forensic practices Examine Cloud Computing technologies Be prepared to take the following exam: Comp TIA™ Network+
