Description of Training Provider
HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, was established in 1964 and is the first and largest of Pennsylvania's 14 community colleges. HACC currently serves nearly 19,000 degree-seeking students and more than 6,000 workforce development students. T
Program Description
This 900-hr program provides participants with the preparation for & opportunity to take a MBLEX State massage licensing exam. Successful completion of the course and obtaining PA state license, can lead to employment as a licensed massage therapist. Licensed Massage Therapist enjoy employment at Employment at health & medical facilities, spa’s, resorts, gyms, massage franchises and private practices. The course of study includes anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, and pathology; massage modalities including Swedish massage, sports massage, connective tissue therapy, neuromuscular therapy, chair massage, spa treatments, aromatherapy and integration and assessment. Additional coursework is included in ethics, professional communication and personal awareness as well as in business practices. Students are required to complete 105 hours in the student clinic, including a minimum of 50 supervised massages.
Skills & Competencies
Students must pass a written test scoring at least 70% with at least 95% attendance to receive a HACC certificate of completion. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will have the opportunity to take a nationally accredited state licensing exam and apply for state license.

Students must have high school diploma/GED and be at least 18 years old. Students without secondary education may be required to take standard HACC assessment exams. PPD (two-step), PA State Police criminal background check, and program application process is required.
