Description of Training Provider

NuPaths is focused on IT workforce development. Its 6-month programs are designed to provide computer training for specific IT job roles. Students have a choice to attend a program online, in a classroom, or in distance learning format.

Program Description

NuPaths prepares you to start a career in information technology and computers. In this 26-week program, you will develop technology skills to start a career as a tech support specialist, help desk technician, or computer support specialist. You can earn up to six (6) industry certifications from Microsoft and CompTIA, eight (8) college credits, and a “Certificate of Completion” from Harrisburg University. Technical Support Specialists are at the forefront of computer and technology operations. They troubleshoot software, fix operating system issues, rebuild computers, and perform general maintenance of computer devices. The program provides training in computer hardware & software, Microsoft Office, mobile computing, networking, cyber security, and emerging technologies. Students also receive 18 hours of business skills training to prepare them for a professional work environment. The program is available online or in person. Career services support is provided to connect students with employers for internships, apprenticeships, or full-time employment. NuPaths is an approved Pre-Apprenticeship trainer and works closely with multiple regional firms to connect its students to apprenticeship opportunities. Skills & Competencies

Technical Support Specialist program has five courses and is delivered in 201 hours of instructor led teaching. Students learn skills to manage computer hardware, software and technical tools used every day in businesses. They can also earn six (6) industry recognized certifications, eight (8) college credits that are transferable and can be used towards future education, and a “Certificate of Completion” from Harrisburg University. Potential Certifications: 1. CompTIA IT Fundamentals, 2. CompTIA A+, 3. MS Office – Excel, 4. MS Office - Outlook, 5. MS Office PowerPoint, 6. MS Office – Word. Computer Hardware Experience Gained: Windows/Apple (Mac)/Linux laptops and desktops, Wireless router/switch, Printer, External storage, Monitors, Projectors, Surge suppressor, UPS, Mobile devices, VoIP phone. Software & Tools Experience Gained: Operating systems, Anti-virus and Anti-malware software, Productivity software, Browser software, Backup software, Virtualization software, Driver software, Access point, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook.
