Lackawanna College is approved by the Pennsylvania State Department of Education to grant degrees and is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.
Program Description
The Associate in Science in Nursing (ASN) degree at Lackawanna College is a two-year program that will prepare you to enter the healthcare field as a graduate nurse (GN)- filling a critical nursing shortage. The program will take half the time of a traditional bachelor’s degree in nursing and will prepare students to take the National Council Licensure Examination-RN (NCLEX-RN). Lackawanna College’s state-of-the-art simulation lab will prepare students to make clinical judgments relating to various levels of stress in healthcare environments. Nursing students will be introduced to simulation in the first semester and simulation will be included in each nursing clinical course. Classroom, laboratory and clinical nursing experiences are included throughout the curriculum.
