Description of Training Provider
Program Description
The Reentry Bridge To Success program is an introduction to the building and construction trades apprenticeship programs. The classes are six weeks long and six hours a day, five days per week. Field trips may be longer or shorter depending on the specific apprenticeship visited. We will be using the TradesFutures, MC3 curriculum as our core curriculum and we will add basic life skills classes as well. Our primary focus is on the reentry population(prison/parole/halfway houses), but this program will be open to anyone in our service area that fits into our disadvantaged criteria. High school seniors graduating on time will be permitted entry as long as it has been approved by a parent/ guardian and the school. Our program will address the shortage of workers in the union building and construction trades. We believe the economic impact will be three fold, giving individuals a family sustaining wage, providing necessary skilled labor to union contractors, and adding to the tax base of our community and nation as a whole.
