Description of Training Provider

Program Description

The Nurse Aide Training Program is designed to teach students the skills necessary to obtain entry-level employment as a Nurse Aide (Nursing Assistant) in nursing homes, hospitals, home health agencies, adult day care centers, and rehabilitation centers.  The Nurse Aide Training Program is 103 hours in length and can be completed in 3.5 weeks.  The Nurse Aide Training Program combines classroom instruction with laboratory sessions to acquire practical skills.  The last week of the training program consists of clinical training sessions at an area nursing home where students will get "hands-on" experience with real clients while under the careful supervision of a nurse instructor.  Students must attend 100% of all class, lab, and clinical sessions in order to be eligible to graduate.  The school offers both day and evening classes.  The school is conveniently located along public transportation routes and free parking is also available.  

Skills & Competencies

The purpose of the Nurse Aide Training Program is to teach students the skills necessary to obtain entry-level employment as a nurse aide. These skills and competencies include:  Basic nursing skills and personal care skills, restorative care skills, communication and infection control skills, safety and emergency training including CPR, assisting clients who are unable to care for themselves while maintaining the client's rights and dignity, and dealing with clients with behavioral health issues and cognitive impairment.
