Description of Training Provider

PA Schools – Schools operated by the Commonwealth of PA or a political subdivision thereof, such as the Department of Education’s Stevens College of Technology, community colleges or vocational technical schools.

Program Description

The Welding and Metal Fabrication Technology program prepares the students to become welding technicians through instruction in basic, intermediate, and advanced welding theory and application. This program covers understanding the properties of metals, blueprint reading, electrical principles, welding symbols, and mechanical drawing. Applications include all types of metal welding, brazing, and flame cutting according to blueprints, diagrams and or/written specifications. Students who qualify may receive the following American Welding Society certifications: Flux Core Arc Welding, Shield and Metal Arc Welding and Gas Metal Arc Welding.
