Description of Training Provider

SCTC provides secondary and post-secondary technical training programs and is approved by the PA Dept. of Education, The PA Board of Nursing, and is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.

Program Description

Program prepares individuals to function effectively as an integral member of the dental health team. Students will perform chair-side assisting, office duties, selected dental office laboratory procedures, and dental radiography. Course will include instruction in standard precautions, communication skills, computer literacy, anatomy and physiology, along with microbiology and sterilization.

Skills & Competencies

Dental Science instruction includes content in dental materials, dental radiography, oral anatomy, histology, oral embryology, oral pathology and therapeutics. Clinical science portion will emphasize the principles and application of office management, chair-side assisting, dental emergencies, and legal/ethical aspects of dental practice.
