Program Description

This course is the theory required to earn your Class-A or Class-B Commercial Driver's License, or upgrade from a Class-B to a Class-A CDL, as required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) for entry-level driver training. Students will learn and be tested on information regarding the regulations, driver requirements, and safe operation of commercial vehicles. Students must successfully complete this course, including passing the required written assessment (exam) with an overall minimum score of 80%, which will be registered on the FMCSA’s Training Providers Registry (TPR), before they can be registered for the Behind-the-Wheel (BTW) portion of CDL training.

Skills & Competencies

This is not a credit program. Students must pass a written test with an 80% or higher. The course covers all theory required to earn a Class-A or Class-B Commercial Driver's License.
