Program Description

The commercial HVAC Maintenance and Repair program is designed to prepare individuals for entry-level positions to maintain and repair HVAC systems in commercial buildings. This program is a partnership with the Johnson Control Institute (JCI) and the Energy Coordinating Agency (ECA). The program focuses on high energy efficient commercial HVAC equipment and the concept of the & Building as a System. This includes topics such as Building Maintenance and Energy Conservation, Basic Plumbing and Piping, Green Cleaning and Indoor Air Quality, Electrical Fundamentals, HVAC Pumps and Motors, HVAC Air Handlers/Boilers/Chillers, HVAC systems and Controls. There is a major focus on safety and accident prevention whereby students will receive certifications in OHSA 10 and EPA RRP for lead safety. Overall students who successfully complete the program will receive 6 nationally recognized certifications from agencies such as OHSA, EPA, ESCO and NCCER.
