Program Description
The Practical Nursing Program is an adult program offered at Crawford County Career & Technical Center, Meadville, PA. It is 1500 clock hours in length, spanning 13 months. It is approved by the PA State Board of Nursing and accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing. The curriculum is divided into trimesters of 500 clock hours each, including both classroom and clinical training. The education is offered in a progressive, simple- to- complex mannerby qualified instructors in a variety of settings. Upon graduation, the student will be prepared to take the National Council Licensing Exam to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Students are exposed to a full variety of nursing settings in which an LPN may work. The LPN works under the supervision of an RN or physician.
Skills & Competencies
Basic nursing skills for bedside nursing such as: vital signs, , IV care & maintenance, assessment and care planning, medication administration, personal care, wound care, urinary catheter care and tracheostomy care.
