Description of Training Provider

Our Tractor Trailer Driver 240 Hour course involves classroom, maintenance, range and road operation according to Professional Truck Driver Institute standards. Diploma and PTDI certificate awarded at completion of the course.

Program Description

Student will learn to safely operate a tractor trailer involving classroom time, backing skills, maneuvers, and actual driving time. The Tractor Trailer Driver portion involves training and testing to obtain a Class A Commercial Driver's License. The heavy equipment portion involves loading and unloading equipment, and safely operating dozer, backhoe, and excavator. Also in the forklift training portion the student will learn to load, unload, receive and stock inventory, pallet configuration, common blocking, stock rotation, work within parameters, and occupational safety practices. A diploma will be awarded at the end of the course.

Skills & Competencies

The Tractor Driver (CDL-A) training student is taught safety skills of operation, control, maintenance and trip planning. Heavy Equipment Operator training involves skills to load, transport, maintain and safely operate equipment. Student also learns to operate a Forklift in order to be capable of safely moving materials in a warehouse setting.
