Program Description
LEARN TO OPERATE STATE OF THE ART MANUFACTURING TOOLS INCL CNC LATHES, CNC VERTICAL MILLS AND CNC PROGRAMMING SIMULATORS. INSTRUCTION WILL COVER SETUP, OPERATING AND PROGRAMMING A CNC LATHE AND MILL. STUDENTS WILL ALSO LEARN AND APPLY SAFETY, MEASUREMENT AND INSPECTION USED IN THE MANUAL MACHINING TRADES. TRAINING ON THE LATHES WILL COVER BASIC TURNING, DRILLING, BORING AND TREADING. MILLTRAINING WILL ALSO COVER SET-UP, DRILLING TAPPING AND MILLING.
Skills & Competencies
Lathe and mill training and operation as well as g-code programming of CNC Lathe and CNC mill will be taught. Other skills and competencies include but are not limited to safety, measurement and inspection of manual machining. Course leads to National Institute of Metal Working Certification.
