Description of Training Provider

Jeff Tech provides career and technical training to secondary and adult student in Jefferson county.

Program Description

Barber Trucking Inc. and Jeff Tech have designed a unique program that is designed to prepare students to earn their CDL permit and class A license with air brake endorsement. Students gain knowledge through ELDT federal compliant classroom and lab instruction, highway, city and range driving time with a qualified instructor. Classes being held at Barber Trucking’s main terminal in Brookville, will provide students the added benefit of training among the day-to-day operations of the commercial transportation industry. Course topics include log books, map reading & trip planning, pre & post-trip inspection, shifting techniques, right & left turns, backing in straight & curved lines, parallel parking, alley docking, coupling & uncoupling trailers, lane control, city, rural & interstate driving.

Safety, pre & post-trip inspection, drop & hook procedures, backing & parking, road driving (city & highway), load securement & weight distribution, map reading & trip planning, and a solid understanding of all FMCSA & PA DOT regulations
