Program Description
This program teaches a high level of technical understanding of the current developments in the automotive service field. All ASE certified automotive service areas are covered in the program including electronics, drive trains, and engine management systems. This program focuses on classroom and laboratory work at the College as well as supervised work experience at sponsoring associated dealerships.
Skills & Competencies
Diagnose/repair mechanical systems (engines, transmissions, transaxles, manual drive trains/axles, suspension/steering systems, braking systems, electrical/electronic systems, heating and air conditioning systems, and engine performance systems). Logical thinking throughout essential areas of automotive diagnostics using published and technical information to repair vehicle while meeting manufacturer's specifications. Competence in the use of general/high specialized tools/equipment. Communicate effectively on both technical and lay levels.
