Description of Training Provider
Program Description
UPMC Mercy School of Nursing offers a 16 month accelerated diploma program. This intense, focused learning experience enables graduates to take the state licensure examination for professional nursing to become a Registered Nurse (RN). Training includes opportunities for hands on learning, instructor lead classes, technological support and group discussions on patient care. The program is accredited by the Accreditation Commision for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
Skills & Competencies
Prepare grads to fulfill role and responsibilities of professional nurse in providing safe and effective care, possess knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to assist in meeting the health care needs of the patient, family and community and enhance the quality of professional nursing practice in collaboration with the health care system.
