Description of Training Provider

NuPaths is focused on IT workforce development. Its 6-month programs are designed to provide computer training for specific IT job roles. Students have a choice to attend a program online, in a classroom, or in distance learning format.

Program Description

NuPaths prepares you to start a career in information technology and computers. In this 26-week program, you will develop technology skills to start a career as an IT security analyst, IT security monitor, junior security analyst, or an IT security technician. You can earn up to five (5) industry certifications from Microsoft and CompTIA, eight (8) college credits, and a “Certificate of Completion” from Harrisburg University. IT Security Analysts support the detection, containment, and remediation of cyber security threats. They monitor computer networks, applications, and data to identify a possible cyber-attack or intrusion and help coordinate and report on cybersecurity incident responses. The program provides training on the technology to support the analysis and trending of network security log data, Incident Response (IR) support, and threat and vulnerability analyses. Students also receive 18 hours of business skills training to prepare them for a professional work environment. The program is available online or in the classroom. Career services support is available to connect students with employers for internships, apprenticeships, or full-time employment. Skills & Competencies

The IT Security Analyst program has four courses and is delivered in over 218 hours of instructor led teaching. Students learn skills to monitor computer networks, user applications and data to identify and defend against any cyber threats to a business. They can also earn five (5) industry recognized certifications, eight college (8) credits that are transferable and can be used towards future education, and a “Certificate of Completion” from Harrisburg University. Potential Certifications: 1. CompTIA IT Fundamentals, 2. CompTIA Network+, 3. CompTIA Security+, 4. Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, 5. Microsoft Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals. Computer Hardware Experience Gained: Wireless router/switch, External storage, Mobile devices, Network ports. Software & Tools Experience Gained: Azure, Cloud, Network management DNS, TCP/IP, Network protocols and topologies, Active Directory, System recovery, Firewalls, Social engineering, Application/service attacks, Wireless attacks, Vulnerability scanning and Security architecture, Identity and access management, Risk management, Cryptographic attacks and PKI, Anti-virus and Anti-malware software, Penetration testing.
