Certified Peer Specialist
Lower Merion Mobile Services is a community-based program which offers Certified Peer Specialists (CPS) to assist individuals with serious mental illness through their recovery. Staff support individuals in their homes, communities, or locations of their choosing and assist with accessing benefits, fostering skills for community living, coordinating services for integrated health such as primary care, mental health, and/or substance use, and aid in the development of natural supports, wellness tools, and community integration. The CPS performs a wide range of tasks to assist individuals in regaining control over their own recovery process. This includes but is not limited to the development of natural supports; development of social interactions in the community, and management of symptoms that challenge the wellness of an individual through the disclosure and use of personal experience.
A Certified Peer Specialist respects the dignity and recognizes the potential for growth of every individual who receives or provides services and supports, advocates for the rights of people we support to pursue their own vision, and is a responsible steward of our human and financial resources in order to create an environment committed to quality. A commitment to RHD Values should be demonstrated as job duties are performed.
