  Description/Job Summary

Lower Merion Mobile Services is a community-based program which offers Certified Peer Specialists (CPS) to assist individuals with serious mental illness through their recovery. Staff support individuals in their homes, communities, or locations of their choosing  and assist with accessing benefits, fostering skills for community living, coordinating services for integrated health such as primary care, mental health, and/or substance use, and aid in the development of natural supports, wellness tools, and community integration. The CPS performs a wide range of tasks to assist individuals in regaining control over their own recovery process.  This includes but is not limited to the development of natural supports; development of social interactions in the community, and management of symptoms that challenge the wellness of an individual through the disclosure and use of personal experience.

  Responsibilities/Duties

Role model wellness and recovery.
Identify recovery goals to assist individuals with managing wellness, recovery, and community integration activities.
Facilitate the use of WRAP plans and WRAP groups as needed.
Uses Motivational Interviewing in individual and groups settings:
Explore and identify problem solving techniques with individuals and explore and identify skills to combat negative self-talk.
Explore and identify techniques to overcome fears.
Explore and identify coping strategies and relapse prevention skills.
Submit daily documentation of services and activities provided to CPS Team Leader
Complete verious documents including but not limited to a strengths and needs assessment, recovery plan, crisis plan, releases and consents.
  
  Required Experience
Experience working with individuals in recovery is a plus, but not required. 
  
  Required Education

High School Diploma or GED
Certified Peer Specialist Course Certification
Pennsylvania Certification Boad (PCB) Certified Peer Specialist Certification
  
  Required Qualifications

Proof of successful completion of a Certified Peer Specialist training
Pennsylvania Certification Board Peer Specialist Certification
PA State Criminal History Clearance
FBI Clearance
PA Child Abuse Clearance
Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle

Lower Merion Counseling & Mobile Services has been providing a broad range of mental health and substance abuse services for over 40 years. Lower Merion Counseling & Mobile Services offers help to people whose lives have been affected by mental illness and/or substance abuse. We provide services in a responsive and respectful manner with sensitivity to issues of gender, ethnicity, culture and sexual identity. LMCMS strives to educate ourselves, people who participate in our services and our community about mental illness and substance abuse, and the hopeful possibilities of treatment and recovery. ***SIGN ON BONUS: available $1500 paid after successful 90 days or 180 days if extended probation period needed.***
