Miller Brother Staffing is seeking experienced CDL Class A Drivers (OTR) for a company located in the Lebanon, PA. area. 

 

Shift:  Monday-Thursday (2-3 days of over the road overnight travel with early dispatch) – home on                            

            the weekends.

 

Salary: 50K – 60K a year based on experience

 

Job Summary:

The CDL Driver is responsible for transporting finished products to various customer facilities. This position represents company and is influential in solidifying our services and market share.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains current CDL A license and physical.
  • Maintains basic familiarity and compliance with Bureau of Motor Carrier Safety regulations.
  • Performs required DOT safety inspections on equipment before daily delivery or pick-ups are completed.
  • Maintains an accurate daily electronic DOT log according to state and federal regulations.
  • Delivery of products to new, existing and potential customers.
  • Provides customer assistance in basic equipment operation and familiarization.
  • Processes all daily paperwork, obtaining appropriate customer signature for all contracts and delivery paperwork.
  • Ensures safety, proper operation and load securement of equipment and other cargo always, including proper dock procedures.
  • Assure quality, cleanliness and accuracy of customer equipment deliveries; perform functional testing of equipment for proper operation and safety before loading.
  • Inspects and documents damaged or missing equipment upon return.
  • Reports any delays or irregularities effecting the scheduled delivery
  • Maintains, inspects, and cleans the delivery vehicle.
  • Assures truck, trailer and all equipment are properly maintained, in proper working order, and always present a professional image.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by manager/supervisor.
  • Basic knowledge of delivery truck functions and regulations.
  • Basic technical skills.
  • Knowledge and familiarization of DOT regulations.
  • Experience in hauling and load securement.

 

Education & Experience:

  • Valid CDL A license with three years of commercial driving experience.
  • Forklift handling experience required
  • Must have electronic truck log experience

 

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to sit and drive for long periods of time, talk and hear. The associate is occasionally required to walk, reach with hands and arms, and climb or balance. The associate must regularly lift and or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally exert up to 100 pounds of force. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Physical requirements may be dictated and verified according to Department of Transportation guidelines.  Physical activity may be required to tarp and cover equipment if raining or snowing.

 

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the associate may be on the road for long periods of time and will regularly be exposed to outside weather conditions. Additionally, this position may require leaving at early hours to accommodate delivery schedules and entails the necessity to work after normal working hours. This role works in a variety of customer environments including manufacturing, distribution, cold storage, and out of doors with exposure to elements.  Potential exposure to equipment movement hazards and dangerous chemical/solvents if proper safety procedures are not followed. The associate is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and equipment, and vibration. The associate is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals in varying customer locations. The noise level in the work environment is generally in the moderate range. Occasionally, the associate may be required to wait for long periods of time to accommodate dock delivery requirements of customers

 

Testing Requirements:

  • Substance abuse test in accordance with company policy
  • Post offer physical examination
  • Driving test administered by the company
