Summary of Position

This position is responsible for the inspection, loading, boxing, packaging, labeling and other associated tasks required to accomplish the manufacturing process of diesel catalyst.  The incumbent is responsible to complete required tasks assigned by the Shift Supervisor or Process Control Engineer to satisfy specific manufacturing and customer requirements according with latest production plans.  The Line Technician participates in the manufacturing process across the production line while observing and reporting immediately any issues that affect the line performance or the quality of the products. The incumbent also participates in the activities associated with line setup, housekeeping and lot changeover.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Comply with JM Health and Safety policies at all times.
  • Be an effective trainer of new Line Technicians.
  • Comply with JM, local, state, and federal regulatory requirements with regard to hazardous waste procedures for generation, identification and disposal.
  • Participate in equipment setup activities required to process parts across the production line.
  • Manual handling, loading, identification and packaging of catalysts according to JM production procedures or specific customer requirements.
  • Uphold JM quality standards by visually inspecting each part produced for obvious defects or damage. This includes proper part segregation for disposition by others.
  • Handling, identification and segregation of non-conforming products.
  • Handling and disposition of substrate skids, cartons and boxes.
  • Maintain identity of parts according to lot numbers.
  • Perform other duties associated with maintaining flow of production as assigned.
  • Participate in housekeeping duties to support JM safety operations and plant layout. Active participant of 5s philosophy.

Knowledge, Skills, and Educational Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Good communication skills along with the ability to work well as a member of a team.
  • Ability to work a 2-2-3 patterned schedule.
