DESCRIPTION/JOB SUMMARY

To lead engineering projects, bring new products to production, and improve existing products within the established time frames in accordance with Pride's procedures and protocols

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

*Facilitate meetings for product development and design reviews with both internal and external stake holders
*Construct and maintain project timelines and Design History Files (DHF's)
*Serve as technical project lead with outside design partners and suppliers
*Track performance and analyze the completion of key goals
*Document and report project progress to stakeholders
*Provide timely responses to project related questions via multiple communication channels
*Design new products and improve existing products in accordance with Pride's procedures and protocols
*Ensure designs are safe, effective, manufacturable, reliable and Superior Product at Reduced Cost (SPARC) initiatives are met
*Develop, release and revise mechanical drawings and 3D models
*Assist and direct selection of materials for best application
*Perform inspections, verification and validation testing
*Mechanical building and assembly of prototype products such as beta samples, show samples, and test samples when needed
*Assist in continuous improvement of design procedure and protocol to help drive design efficiency
*Develop familiarity with regulatory requirements to make compliance recommendations
*Travel to domestic and international contract manufacturers as needed for product launches
*Ensure all safety and security rules are strictly observed and any accidents, incidents or injuries are promptly reported to management
*Attend the Annual C-TPAT Security Training
*Focus on continuous improvement, and consistently demonstrate good business judgment
*Work effectively with all Pride departments to exceed internal and external expectations
*Pride retains the discretion to modify duties and/or assign other duties as necessary

Must have the ability to:

*Multi-task, problem-solve, and prioritize in a fast-paced working environment
*Work as part of a multi-disciplined cross-functional team
*Use hand tools and standard power tools
*Read and comprehend work instructions
*Prepare and build prototypes
*Prepare and present summary reports
*Travel internationally at least twice a year for up to 2 weeks at a time
*Lift/push/pull 40 lbs.

Must have:

*Relentless drive to achieve advancement and continuous improvement
*Basic working knowledge of 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks or Creo
*Strong mechanical inclination
*Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
*Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills
*Proven successful time management and organizational skills to plan, design and implement each stage of a project within specific time constraints

PREFERRED SKILLS

*Basic familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and simulation preferred
*Basic understanding of Lean Principles preferred
*Basic working knowledge of RoHS/REACH preferred

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

*No experience required

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

*At least 1 year of project management, Research & Development, or Manufacturing experience in a fast-paced working environment preferred
*At least 2,000 hours or 1 year of equivalent experience in 3D solid modeling of mechanical components and assemblies along with 2D detail drawings preferred
*At least 1 year of hands-on experience with machining, welding and fabrication of mechanical assemblies preferred
*At least 1 year of hands-on experience in the design, manufacturing and assembly of fabricated mechanical structures preferred
*At least 1 year of experience in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) preferred
*At least 1 year of experience in designing mechanical systems and assemblies preferred
*At least 1 year of experience with the specific products preferred

*Current or previous successful employment experience with Pride Mobility Products Corporation preferred

REQUIRED EDUCATION

*Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field, OR Associate Degree in Engineering or a related field with at least 6 years of experience in designing mechanical systems and assemblies
OR High School Diploma with at least 12 years of project management, Research & Development, or Manufacturing experience in a fast-paced working environment

PREFERRED EDUCATION

*Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred
*Project Management Professional certification preferred
