JOB SUMMARY: Support production area and assist extrusion operators by performing the following duties according to established VEKA standards. These standards enable us to provide a quality product/service to ensure our customer’s satisfaction.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Adhere to safety requirements and inform the Supervisor of any unsafe situations.
  • Properly banding, sealing, and bar-coding racks, bundles, crates and/or boxes of finished goods of material.
  • Visually inspect profiles for gross defects, surface defects, and general appearance.
  • Notify Extrusion Operator Technician and/or Supervisor or the Quality Assurance Inspector of any quality problems that are in question or occur.
  • Transport finished product and/or scrap to designated areas.
  • Measures, cuts and builds wooden packaging units and delivers them to the running lines for all Veka crating units.
  • Maintain proper housekeeping of assigned work area.
  • Fill in for breaks as needed.



SECONDARY DUTIES:
1. Assist operators in packaging profiles neatly and properly according to packaging standards, when needed.
2. All other duties as assigned.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Organizing, Good Oral Communication, Working Under Pressure, Drive & Initiative, Flexibility, Timeliness. Ability to read tape measure, ability to use saws, pneumatic nail guns and various hand tools.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: GED, High School Education, or Previous Work Experience. Able to obtain and hold a valid VEKA forklift license and operate various forklifts.
