DESCRIPTION/JOB SUMMARY

To lead engineering projects, bring new products to production, and improve existing products within the established time frames in accordance with Pride's procedures and protocols

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

*Serve as technical project lead with outside design partners and suppliers
*Ensure designs are safe, effective, manufacturable, reliable and meet quality system compliance
*Facilitate meetings for product development and design reviews with both internal and external stake holders
*Facilitate productivity of multiple teams in an organized manner with Research & Development (R&D) such as Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Design, Drafting, Test Lab and Machine Shop
*Mechanical building and assembly of prototype products such as beta samples, show samples, and test samples when needed
*Capitalize on strong organizational skills to facilitate product transition from design to product release into production
*Assist and direct selection of materials for best application
*Assist in the design and analysis of complex mechanical systems and assemblies
*Assist with developing, releasing and revising mechanical drawings and 3D models
*Assist with performing inspections, verifications and validation testing
*Meet and fulfill project timelines and budgets
*Assist in continuous improvements of design procedure and protocol to help drive design efficiency
*Construct and maintain project timelines and Design History Files (DHF's)
*Develop familiarity with regulatory requirements to make compliance recommendations
*Travel to domestic and international contract manufacturers as needed for product launches
*Ensure all safety and security rules are strictly observed and any accidents, incidents or injuries are promptly reported to management
*Attend the Annual C-TPAT Security Training
*Focus on continuous improvement, and consistently demonstrate good business judgment
*Work effectively with all Pride departments to exceed internal and external expectations
*Pride retains the discretion to modify duties and/or assign other duties as necessary

REQUIRED SKILLS

*Must be skilled in time management, and be a team player, friendly, professional, detail-oriented, and honest


Must have the ability to:

*Multi-task, problem-solve, and prioritize in a fast-paced working environment
*Use hand tools and standard power tools
*Read and comprehend work instructions
*Prepare and build prototypes
*Prepare and present summary reports
*Travel domestically and internationally as needed for up to 2 weeks at a time
*Lift/push/pull 40 lbs.

Must have:

*Relentless drive to achieve advancement and continuous improvement
*Basic working knowledge of 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks or Creo
*Basic working knowledge of 2D modeling software such as AutoCAD 2D
*Basic working knowledge of hand tools and standard power tools
*Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and Excel
*Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills
*Proven successful time management and organizational skills to plan, design and implement each stage of a project within specific time constraints

PREFERRED SKILLS

*Intermediate working knowledge of 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks or Creo preferred
*Intermediate working knowledge of 2D modeling software such as AutoCAD 2D preferred
*Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and simulation preferred
*Basic understanding of Lean Principles preferred
*Basic working knowledge of RoHS/REACH preferred

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

*No experience required

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

*At least 1 year of project management, Research & Development, or Manufacturing experience in a fast-paced working environment preferred
*At least 1 year of experience in drafting while utilizing 3D solid modeling and/or 2D detail drawings preferred
*At least 1 year of experience in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) preferred
*At least 1 year of experience with the specific products preferred
*Current or previous successful employment experience with Pride Mobility Products Corporation preferred

REQUIRED EDUCATION

*Associate Degree in an Engineering or Technical/Science related field OR High School Diploma with at least 6 years of project management, Research & Development, or Manufacturing experience in a fast-paced working environment

PREFERRED EDUCATION

*Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Materials Science Engineering preferred
*Project Management Professional certification preferred
