Business Analyst III

The Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Business Analyst to design new IT and data analytics solutions, to modify, enhance and adapt existing systems, and to integrate new features and reports with the aim of improving efficiency and productivity for the research activities, initiatives, and teams supported by the?CTSI. The incumbent meets with stakeholders to understand IT and analytics needs; translate needs into requirements to share with software developers and data analysts; ensure prototypes and finished products support design, data, and overall quality standards; and ensure the final product is aligned with the customers’ needs.

The position requires experience in systems and data analysis and the software development lifecycle. An ideal candidate will demonstrate an analytical mindset, attention to detail, critical thinking and technical skills. A successful candidate possesses a significant level of technical expertise, the ability to discern insights into practices and requests as well as being committed to?working?inclusively in a diverse team environment.


Job Summary
Supports business operations by analyzing multiple, complex requirements. Assesses current practices, collects information, and analyzes industry trends to determine organizational objectives. Designs new projects/programs and makes recommendations to improve systems. Prepares technical reports, analyzes data, and creates visualizations.


Essential Functions
Ability to operate a PC and communicate effectively both verbally and in written form with a broad variety of people. Telephone skills, computer and keyboard skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills. Ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds.


Physical Effort
Position is generally sedentary, but there may be times when position requires mobility to attend meetings both in person and virtually. Ability to move throughout campus to attend face to face meetings and or participate in virtual meetings or lift reports weighting approximately 15lbs.
