Under the administrative and clinical supervision of the Head Nurse, the Mental Health Technician maintains a safe and therapeutic environment; provides direct psychosocial and physical nursing care to patients, in both individual and group settings; and implements the program schedule according to the patient’s individual treatment plan.

One (1) year experience in the human service field is preferred; internships/field placement experience acceptable.  Ability to develop and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients and family members/significant others; demonstrates verbal and written communication skills and the ability to express ideas in a clear, concise and legible form; ability to interface with all disciplines; ability to organize and prioritize multifaceted workload; exercises tact, diplomacy and good judgment at all times.

BLS required, must be completed prior to end of orientation period.
