Borton Lawson is presently seeking a Project Manager for Highway Infrastructure within the Transportation Business Unit.  The primary duties of the Project Manager include securing and managing a successful operation of multiple projects and opportunities.  This work includes the development and execution of the Transportation business plan in cooperation with the with the Business Unit Leader and the Business Development Leader.  The position will require coordination of tasks utilizing multiple disciplines from numerous Borton-Lawson locations.This role can sit in Wilkes-Barre, Bethlehem, or Wexford, PA. Hybrid/Remote opportunities available within proximity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Includes the following - Other Duties may be assigned: 

  • Responsible for regional performance of the team including quality, efficiency, and client satisfaction by leading projects, staff, and identification of business development opportunities.
  • Develops and maintains key client relationships.
  • Individual must have strong reputation with major transportation clients and teaming partners.
  • Individual will be responsible for achieving business growth initiatives in expanded geographic areas.
  • Will coordinate Business Unit and Market Sector Leaders in planning strategic planning efforts, goal setting, staffing, recruiting, and project coordination.
  • Maintain/manage contracts to ensure that work is delivered within scope, fee, and schedule including preparation of  contract modifications & negotiations to account for expanded scope efforts.
  • Maintain close relationships  with high level individuals within key clients organizations.
  • Ensure Quality and Health & Safety programs are developed and adhered to within Service Teams.
  • Provide clear and consistent communication to both internal and external clients on performance and project status.
  • Manages resources to determines the need for coordination of efforts with other team members to ensure timely delivery of  a quality product.
  • Partners effectively with other individuals within the BL organization to ensure effective and efficient operations and to resolve challenges that may arise.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering / Transportation or related discipline.
  • Experience in the management and delivery of high profile projects for major transportation clients with an emphasis on PennDOT and PA Turnpike Commission.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license with PMP certification preferred.
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary A&E environment.
  • Strong knowledge of DOT project requirements.
  • Experience working with PennDOT Districts a plus.
  • Active member in local/regional associations such as ASHE, ASCE  or other technical discipline associations. 
  • Experience securing and managing successful, profitable large scale projects preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Individual must be energetic, self-directed and success focused.
