Position Summary:

In the Drafter position, you will work as part of a collaborative design team by providing drafting support for schematic plan revisions, redline corrections, x-ray shielding plans and Dental Construction Documents. Dental Construction Documents to include detailed dental equipment plans as well as construction details for plumbing, electrical and carpentry. This position will also maintain the department's library of dental equipment symbols and details by coordinating with manufacturers, sourcing AutoCAD blocks and Revit families, and creating new ones as needed based on manufacturer specifications.

Do YOU Possess These Skills and Attributes?

Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit and Microsoft Office suite.

Strong knowledge of construction practices and construction detailing.

Basic knowledge of building codes, ADA accessibility requirements and construction methods.

Ability to work independently within a team structure, as well as collaboratively, while valuing a strong team-oriented approach.

Excellent organization and time management skills and strong verbal and written communication skills.

Must be comfortable collaborating virtually using screen sharing and digital drawing annotations.

Do These Responsibilities Interest YOU?

Convert existing plans, which may be scanned or hand-drawn, into AutoCAD/Revit format

Pick up redlines and revisions on design schematics prepared by Planning Specialists and Interior Designers

Prepare Dental Construction Documents which include detailed equipment placement plans, and electrical, plumbing and carpentry details

Prepare shielding plans for x-ray/imaging equipment

Follow Benco standard CAD formats

Participate in team peer review processes for quality assurance

Understand and stay up-to-date on dental equipment layouts for optimum functionality and ergonomics

Stay up-to-date on dental equipment lines; research utility and carpentry requirements to ensure Dental Construction Documents are accurate for a seamless equipment installation experience

Explain detailing and construction concepts to Benco's Equipment Support team as required

Maintain library of technical drawing symbols for dental equipment, creating new AutoCAD blocks and Revit families as needed

Assist with Revit software conversion initiative, including the development and maintenance of team standards

Continuous knowledge sharing, peer review and collaboration are imperative

Do YOU Meet These Requirements?

Minimum Associates' Degree or equivalent in Architectural Drafting or Technical Drafting from an accredited college

2 years' experience in the architecture or design field preferred

Prior Dental Planning experience a plus, but not mandatory
