Position Mission / Summary

Under direction of the Plant Controller, the Plant Accountant is responsible for the cost accounting and reporting function and has oversight of facility inventory and product cost processes, including development and maintenance of product standard costs in accordance with financial and company policies and procedures. Key customers are the Plant Controller, Plant Manager and plant leadership team, as well as various division and corporate accounting functions. The Plant Accountant is the backup for all duties of the Plant Controller when appropriate.

Position Scope

Key processes include monthly close, monthly financial forecasts and annual operating plans. Responsibilities also include: analysis and evaluation of the Plant's monthly operating results, annual budgets, monthly production and financial forecasts, and weekly results reporting. Provide analytical support for cross functional projects including but not limited to customer profitability analysis and pricing etc.

Position Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following.

Responsible for all cost accounting requirements of the facility including inventory, cost of goods sold, special accruals, variance analysis, and reconciliations

Support monthly close including Balance Sheet reconciliation and accurate Revenue and Expense oversight

Support the development of month end results package for the Plant to present to Senior Management

Responsible for producing, as needed, profitability analysis for customers and product lines

Provide financial analysis of facility key performance indicators including but not limited to EVA's, forecasts, and outlooks

Oversee the facility's Cost Reduction and Spoilage Reduction process

Ad hoc financial analysis of financial and operating metrics to support business requirement

Support the development and analysis of the annual operating plan; support strategic and capital operating plan preparation

Support plant controller as needed for compliance to GPI reporting requests

All other duties as assigned

Required Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a Business related field required

MBA and CPA preferred

Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office Suite tools

Strong analytical skills are preferred

Prior experience in Standard costing, variance analysis

Required Experience:

3-5 years in an Accounting/ Finance role

ERP systems experience required; SAP and QAD preferred
