Responsible for Maintenance operation and activities. Responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of facility machinery.  Establish Maintenance policies and procedures.  Establish and maintain Maintenance community relations. Foster a well-trained and motivated Maintenance staff.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct and coordinate Maintenance operations within company policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for the management of the Preventative Maintenance Program and associated manuals/records.
  • Responsible for the management of the Maintenance Work Order Program and associated manuals/records.
  • Responsible for overall facility maintenance activities, including buildings and grounds.
  • Develop and implement Maintenance management strategy and plans, including resource, systems, timescales, financials, to support, contribute to, and integrate within, the organization’s annual business plan and long term strategy.
  • Install facility machinery.
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on facility machinery.
  • Troubleshoot and repair facility machinery.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Program Programmable Logic Controls (PLC's).
  • Complete daily maintenance and repair logs.
  • Communicate with operators/supervisors from other shifts.
  • Responsible for completing line changeovers.
  • Maintain and secure work tools.
  • Turn off and lock out equipment prior to maintenance or repair.
  • Establish and implement necessary communication strategy for the improvement and awareness of maintenance issues across all departments.
  • Plan and manage departmental activities in accordance with agreed budgets and timescales.
  • Maintain a clean and safe Maintenance Area.
  • Establish and maintain a positive Maintenance community relationship.
  • Responsible for Maintenance Department staffing and training.
  • Conduct employee performance reviews.
  • Foster a well-trained and motivated Maintenance staff.
  • Responsible for establishing all Maintenance shift schedules.
  • Responsible for Maintenance employee attendance records.
  • Manage staff according to company standards (appraisals, discipline, training, development, uniform, badges, etc).
  • Responsible for air and water systems.
  • Responsible for Lock Out/Tag Out training for the facility.
  • Responsible for Maintenance supplies, materials, tools, replacement parts and organization of items listed within the Maintenance area.
  • Liaise with equipment and raw material suppliers where necessary (where impacting/affected by maintenance issues)
  • Responsible for reporting all new received chemical supplies to Quality Manager for Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) labeling.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Direction of Maintenance operations and community relations requires significant maintenance knowledge as well as advanced interpersonal and supervisory skills. This is normally acquired by five to seven years of maintenance experience which includes supervisory responsibility.
  • Advanced skills required in the following areas: HVAC, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic & pneumatic systems, plumbing, carpentry, piping systems, welding and PLC programming.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
  • Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
  • Proficiency with computer programs such as Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel and Outlook.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work may involve lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds. Working in this environment requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, and hardhats. Loose fitting clothes, sleeveless shirts, shorts, skorts, skirts, capri pants (3/4 length pants), open toe shoes, and jewelry are not permitted.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform back-up for production line.
  • Perform back-up for warehouse.
  • Provide on-the-job training to new employees.
  • Order tools and machinery inventory parts.

Schedule

  • 1st Shift

  • Monday - Friday

  • 8:00am - Finish

  • Will be expected to work 8-12 hour shifts depending on OT needs

Pay: $25.00-$27.00/ hr depending on skills and experience.
