Machine Operator/Forklift
Position Requirements
Operate gang saws in cutting of corrugated paper and drive forklift in transportation of materials. Ability to flex regularly between saws and forklift. (hourly, daily or weekly) May also be assigned other duties as Supervision requires
60% of time on forklift/40% of time operating saws
Forklift Primary duties
Load and unload products from trailers using forklift trucks and other material handling equipment.
Store the products in proper places in warehouse.
Deliver products to various units in safely and timely manner.
Sort, pack, wrap, tie and label products as per company procedures.
Monitor and maintain accurate inventory.
Clean work area and equipment regularly by removing empty pallets, wood and plastic.
Follow company standards and legal regulations to ensure safe and positive work atmosphere.
Maintain forklift equipment by, performing preventive performing routine pre and post inspections.
Maintain material handling equipment by recharging, cleaning, oiling, refueling and other necessary actions, and record all information on log sheet.
Gang saw primary duties
Set up saws for product to be processed
Cutting of corrugated slabs to desired length and thickness
Use of micrometer/caliper in measuring product to assure compliance to quality standards
Clean work area and equipment regularly by removing empty pallets, wood and plastic.
Follow company standards and legal regulations to ensure safe and positive work atmosphere.
Perform Lockout/Tagout
Requirements:
*High school diploma/GED required
*2+ years' experience operating powered forklifts
*Knowledge of various material-handling equipment an asset
*Possess a high regard for safety in the workplace
*Must pass our internal forklift qualification test
*Able to lift 75 pounds unassisted
