Job Summary: Provides security for hospital property; assist patients, visitors and staff with directions and/or escorts; perform routine indoor and outdoor patrols of assigned facilities (on foot and in vehicle); respond to routine and emergency calls for assistance, e.g. fire alarms, gas alarms, door alarms, patient elopements, etc.; assist staff with violent or agitated patients; assist staff with safe patient restraint; maintain peace by engaging agitated or violent visitors; provide first aid to those in need; provide additional security measures for safety of VIPs and unique patients; perform required locking and unlocking of mechanical or electronic doors; observe and report unsafe conditions; ensure unauthorized persons are not in restricted areas; collect, inventory and secure valuables, medications, or lost items when appropriate and complete the necessary documentation; type incident reports describing actions taken during shift; coordinate with police, fire and EMS personnel when they are on campus; assist Office of Emergency Management during natural or manmade disasters; perform traffic control duties; enforce parking regulations through education, issuing warnings or parking tickets (sworn personnel); provide motor vehicle assistance to staff or visitors, i.e. jump start vehicles; any and all other duties assigned.

Minimum Requirements: High School Degree

Min. 1 yr. healthcare security or law enforcement experience required.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work independently and with frequent interruptions; knowledge and understanding of security and parking systems; physical condition permitting frequent walking, occasional running or struggling with an aggressive person; ability to operate PCs and tablets; must be capable of delivering excellent customer service to patients, visitors and staff. Applicant will be subject to Trustworthiness and Reliability background checks in compliance with 10 CFR Part 37 for the ?Physical Protection of Category 1 and Category 2 Quantities of Radioactive Material.? Additionally, applicant will acquire and maintain T&R certification and security clearance as a necessary component of this position.

Preferred Qualifications: Associate's Degree

Current or previous Act 120 or Act 235 certification preferred.

Licensure and Certifications: Licensure not required. Applicant will be subject to Trustworthiness and Reliability (T&R) background checks in compliance with 10 CFR Part 37 for the ?Physical Protection of Category 1 and Category 2 Quantities of Radioactive Material.? Additionally, applicant will acquire and maintain T&R certification and security clearance as a necessary component of this position. -Valid PA drivers license
