DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Basic Qualifications
Education/Training: A Bachelors degree in Accounting or a related field of study preferred; specialized financial analysis training is preferred.

Skill(s): Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; moderate interpersonal relations and communicative skills; general understanding of financial terminology and a working knowledge of accounting standards and financial ratios; proficient computer skills; visual and auditory skills.
Experience: Experience in a banking or accounting setting is preferred.

General Responsibilities
Responsible for performing credit analysis/commercial loan underwriting and related administrative duties as necessary to support the Commercial Lending team; achieving goals as established in the assigned department's annual operating plan; coordinating work within the department, as well as with other departments; complying with operating policies and procedures established for the credit analysis function; communicating with appropriate personnel; responding to inquiries or requests for information; maintaining appropriate records and providing assigned reports.

Essential Duties
1. Credit Analysis / Commercial Loan Underwriting (in accordance with Bank procedures)
  a. Receive, organize and review all financial data for multiple years (corporate financial statements, personal financial statements, corporate tax returns, personal tax returns, credit bureau reports, accounts receivable agings, inventory listings, appraisals, collateral evaluations, etc.) and determine need for additional information.
  b. Research specific industry benchmarks and identify risks or issues and the potential impact to the borrowers performance.
  c. Research and analyze current banking relationship including loan exposure, deposit balances and handling of accounts.
  d. Using gathered financial data, compile spreadsheets and reports into Banks format.
  e. Calculate cash flow, global cash flow, and key financial ratios.
  f. Analyze financial data, spreadsheets, and reports identifying credit strengths and weaknesses, potential risks to the bank and likeliness of repayment of debt.
  g. Identify performance trends, both positive and negative and determine cause and effect.
  h. Prepare written narrative outlining the results of the financial analysis and calculations detailing the credit strengths and weaknesses, potential risks to the bank and an evaluation of creditworthiness.
  i. Review and test loan covenants, when applicable.
  j. Based on findings contained in the narrative report, propose continuation or amendment to current risk ratings.

2. Administrative Duties (in accordance with Bank procedures)
  a. Maintains respective credit files which include information related to the commercial underwriting process.
  b. File credit file related documents as necessary.
  c. Maintain pipeline and status report spreadsheets as requested to manage workflow.
  d. Completes commercial credit inquiries from external sources.
  e. Supports the Appraisal Department as assigned to prepare Real Estate Evaluations.
  f. Assist with communication to acquire financial information from borrowers.
  g. Attends and participates in Loan Committee meetings as requested.

3. Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the department as well as with other departments in order to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information.
4. Abides by current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the workplace.
5. Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the Companys compliance with all regulatory requirements.
6. Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested, or according to an established schedule; compiles information as necessary or directed.
7. Responds to inquiries relating to his/her area, or to requests from other Company personnel, customers, etc., within given time frames and within established policy.
8. Maintains appropriate records and provides assigned reports.
9. Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
