Program Description
Welding has taken a dominant role in virtually every aspect of manufacturing. With the industry's continual advances, welding will provide almost endless opportunities for those seeking cutting edge careers. The Advanced Welding program is for those who are seeking to expand upon their basic welding skills and earn an industry recognized certification in Advanced Welding. Graduates of this program will advance comprehension of welding knowledge, proficiency and practice to meet the skills needs of Manufacturing, Aerospace, Automotive Industry, Industrial Fabrication, Pipeline, Ship Building and heavy Construction occupations.
Skills & Competencies
Skills and competencies leading to a 6G welding certification from the American Welding Society (AWS). Structural and pipe welding techniques are taught in all 5 positions and include fillet and groove welds, open root pipe welding, hot pass pipe welding, pipe welding techniques for the cap, and test coupon prep.
